How do I open an existing configuration?
Under the Project category of the toolbar, click on the Open button to bring up the open file dialog box.

How do I save my configuration?
Click on the Save button located in the Project category of the toolbar.

How do I start a new configuration?
Click on the New button in the Project category of the toolbar.

How do I draw with the extrusion tool?
Click on the Extrusion button located in the Sketch section of the toolbar. Click on two points of the grid to draw segments of extrusion between the two points.

How do I insert panels into my configuration?
To insert panels into your configuration, click on the Panel tool in the Sketch category of the toolbar. Select the four extrusions around the perimeter of the panel.

How do I add accessories?
After selecting Accessory from the Sketch portion of the toolbar, fill in the desired quantity next to the desired accessory part number.

How do I remove panels or extrusions from my configuration?
After selecting Delete from the Edit portion of the toolbar, click on the components that you want to remove from the configuration.

How many levels of undo does the configurator support?
Currently, 80/20 Config only supports one level of undo.

How do I configure the corner connections?
Select the Property tool from the Edit portion of the toolbar, and click on the corner node that you want to configure. Select the configuration of the profiles, the fastening method that you prefer and finally the number of fasteners and locations they should be in.

How do I modify an extrusion without modifying my configuration?
Select the Property tool from the Edit portion of the toolbar and click on the extrusion that you want to configure. In the dialog box at the right, toggle the moving and fixed end as required, then with ‘move end only’ selected, enter the new extrusion length and click on Ok.

How do I modify an extrusion and modify my configuration?
Select the Property tool from the Edit portion of the toolbar, and click on the extrusion that you want to configure. In the dialog box at the right, toggle the moving and fixed end as required, then with ‘using preserve constraints’ selected, enter the new extrusion length and click on Ok. The configuration will adjust as the configured connections will allow.

How do I move an extrusion without modifying my configuration?
With the Offset tool from the Edit portion of the toolbar selected, first click on the extrusion that you want to move. Next click on the destination endpoint and enter the new offset distance.

How do I move the grid?
Use the Move tool in the Grid portion of the toolbar. Select a source point on the grid and then select the point in the configuration that you want the grid point moved to.

How do I resize the grid?
Select the Resize button in the Grid portion of the toolbar. You can use the blue grip handles to double or halve the existing grid in the direction of the grip that you click on.

How do I hide the grid?
You can hide and unhide the grid by clicking the Hide button in the Grid portion of the toolbar.

How do I rotate the view?
Select the Rotate tool in the Orient portion of the toolbar. For a clockwise rotation, click and drag from the lower right corner to the lower left. For counterclockwise, click and drag from the lower left corner to the right.

How do I fit my configuration in the window?
Simply click on the Fit tool in the Orient portion of the toolbar and the configuration will zoom to fit inside of the window.

How do I pan the view of my configuration?
With the Pan tool from the Orient portion of the toolbar selected, click and drag inside of the configuration window to move your view.

What does Render do?
The Render button, in the Toggle portion of the toolbar, applies a body to each of the components in the configuration. Click to show or hide the rendered components.

How do I show or hide the dimensions in my configuration?
Dimensions that are displayed in the configuration window can be shown or hid by toggling the Dimension button in the Toggle portion of the toolbar. Dimensions are automatically hidden when in Render view.

What does “To Scale” mean?
When displaying a rendered view, selecting the To Scale option displays a profile width relative to the size of the profile. We allow for scaling of the render view to better see the connection methods used in a configuration.
