September 15, 2005 | Imaginestics Announces Partnership with Engineering Methods, Inc. (EMI)
Research Park, West Lafayette, Indiana, U.S.A –
Imaginestics,
leading provider of design reuse
management solutions for discrete manufacturing,
announced
today that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Engineering Methods,
Inc. (EMI), an engineering services company providing Mechanical Design and
Analysis Automation solutions, world class training, and Lean Product
Development services. Under the terms of the agreement, EMI will sell
Imaginestics' suite of design reuse management applications as a complimentary
offering to EMI sales of Solid Edge CAD software.
"Imaginestics
offers simple to use, yet powerful tools that revolutionize the way
manufacturers organize, access, and leverage part information, thereby
minimizing waste in the Product Development process. The Imaginestics products
are already integrated with Solid Edge, making this very attractive to our
current and future CAD customers," said Jerry McFeeters, Product Development
Manager for EMI.
Imaginestics'
product suite promotes design reuse by allowing manufacturers to easily locate
internal parts similar to new designs. Redundant product designs waste millions
annually in excess inventory and redundant product planning activity. For
example, the
i-config enterprise configurator uses Imaginestics' proprietary "reuse" engine
to match parts and configurations with existing parts and configurations.
In addition,
Imaginestics and EMI will team up at the Solid Edge User Summit on Sept 28-30,
2005 in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Imaginestics will be announcing the beta release
of 3D-Seek, the world's only 3D shape search engine. 3D-Seek.com is an online
portal allowing designers, engineers, purchasing agents and technical buyers to
find parts based on a 3D geometry created. 3D-Seek technology will drastically
streamline the process of finding similar designs for reuse internally and
externally as well as identifying parts suppliers.
"As the Solid
Edge community begins utilizing the 3D-Seek search engine, EMI will provide a
valuable connection to current and future Solid Edge users that can use 3D-Seek
to drive towards lean product design and manufacturing", added Nainesh Rathod,
CEO and President of Imaginestics.
